From any document file:

If you are coping and pasting from another website that has a good deal of original formatting (in-line styles) :

Use  "Paste as Plain Text" icon (image a). A window opens and paste text in window and click insert.

Highlight ALL text and go up to the "Format" drop down menu and select:" Paragraph.

 Then individually select headlines and subheads and use the "Format" dropdown menu (see image b.)  to select:

  • "Heading 1" for most important titles and headings.
  • "Heading 2" for subheads and so on.

 

From a Word File:

If you are coping and pasting  text from a word file and click "Paste from Word" icon in Joomla's text editor.  A window opens and paste text in window and click insert.

 Then highlight ALL text and go up to the "Format" drop down menu and select:" Paragraph.

 Then individually select headlines and subheads and use the "Format" dropdown menu  to select:

  • "Heading 1" for most important titles and headings.
  • "Heading 2" for subheads and so on.

In newer versions of JCE they have deleted paste from word.
