Back End Editing in Joomla

Finding your Content in Joomla!'s Back End

Getting trained in the back-end of the site allows for more complex control over all areas of your site. At first it might seem a little awkward, but I assure you will get the hang of it.

Below is short tutorial in finding your content in the back-end.

Joomla!'s Control Panel and the Main Menu

First: Log in to the administrator panel. It is usually is http://yourwebsite.com/administrator. Type in your password.

You will automatically directed to the control panel pictured left. Here you have access to all areas of the site.

There are two major menus that you will access to control all the content in your site: The Article Manager, and the Module Manager.

Joomla!'s Article Manager

To edit main content of your website go to the Article Manager.  Go to your Main Menu (horizontal menu below the Joomla! logo) >> Content >> Article Manager.

In the Article manager you will find a list of articles you can edit, add to,  save and archive as you wish. I do not suggest you delete any content, just archive it.

Joomla!'s Module Manager

The second area of the site you should become familiar with is the Module Manager. The Module Manager controls menus and sidebar-content of your site. To access the Module Manager go to the Main Menu >> Extensions>>Module Manager. Here you will find all your modules of your site including your side bar areas.
