Joomla and Customizing your sites 404 error pages

When a visitor comes to your site and gets a default error page: watch out! They may not stick around.

A good solution is to build a custom 404 (file not found) error page. Creating custom error pages in Joomla is a  simple template override and it can save you from loosing visitors.

Copy templates/system/error.php file into your templates/ directory.

Open this new copy and paste source code from your index.php or search.php file directly inside the file. Save it.

JomSocial

I loaded and configured the extention JomSocial into a client's Joomla! site this week. It is truly extraordinary in its quick configuration time and its powerful functionality. I am really impressed with this extension and I will suggested it to clients and friends who want to develop a facebook-like community on their site. COLOURlovers

Do you know about COLOURlovers at http://www.colourlovers.com/? I love this site because it is really helpful in building meaningful and beautiful color palettes. It tracks the latest color trends in Branding, Websites, Print and more. When I am brainstorming palettes to reinforce the content, COLOURlovers gives me real data to compare and contrast and show my clients.
